Our ‘Circular’ Learning Experiences Methodology

Like the economy, we believe that learning experience design needs to be circular, rather than a linear, one-time exercise. At VonGeyer Consulting, our methodology, processes, and services are designed to achieve this goal.
Circular loops allow us to design experiences that are restorative and regenerative in nature so they can naturally adapt to evolving learning, business, and technology requirements.
Contextualized curation allows us to reuse and repurpose learning components and content from a variety of sources to build effective learning experiences, circumventing the need to create everything from scratch.
Sustainable development strategies allow us to create multidimensional and discrete microlearning components that can be used across multiple learning paths, roles, and even future iterations of the program.
Our consultative approach allows us to design experiences customized to your specific business needs, learner profiles, content sources, and technical environment.
As professionals, learners, and human beings, we change, grow, and evolve through our entire life. And as conscious citizens of the world, we try to conserve what we have and reduce waste by recycling, sharing, and reusing resources. Shouldn’t our learning experiences be designed to do the same?

For the last 18 years, I have had a single answer to the question, “What do you do?”. I’m an instructional designer.
Yes, I have had various designations and roles across my career so far.
I’ve been a learning consultant for more than a decade and designed program-level solutions for a wide variety of subject areas and customers. I’ve conducted needs analysis, content sourcing, and training structure design workshops with client stakeholders onsite and virtually. I’ve designed complex learning games, visual communication assets, microlearning paths, eLearning courses, in-application system training components, and instructor-led workshops including productized frameworks and Brandon Hall award winners.
I’ve also managed a team of 25+ instructional designers across recruitment, development, mentoring, resourcing, and allocations for over 7 years. I’ve designed processes, offerings, structures, and frameworks to optimize and maximize resource utilization and revenue generation across delivery and sales functions.
But the foundation for success in everything I’ve taken on is my core instructional design skill set that has been built and honed since I came across this field in 2004 and fell in love at first brief.
So, hi! It’s good to meet you. I’m Lisa, an instructional designer and partner at VonGeyer Consulting.
Content enthusiast. Introvert with unexpected success at building and sustaining client relationships. Always in search of a creative pursuit. Adventurous spirit.
I love creating and consuming content but, most of all, I enjoy learning. And across a career that has spanned 20 years, I have had plenty of opportunities to learn and create, first with the publishing industry and then in the learning and development field. As part of a decade-long stint in instructional design, I started off being a part of large teams—working on custom eLearning projects, working with customers and content from varying domains, facilitating training sessions for my peers—and then moved my way up to leading a team of Instructional Designers myself.
My adventurous spirit—backed by my understanding of the custom learning solutions business—then led me towards account management and consultative selling. For another decade, I played the role of a key account manager with responsibilities for growing revenue across several accounts. This role put me up front and personal with my customers—defining problem statements, presenting solutions, building consensus, and closing deals.
It’s now time to consolidate the different facets of my experience to solve problems and build solutions in a different avatar. Hi! I’m Julian, an experienced learning professional and partner at VonGeyer Consulting.
