VonGeyer Consulting or VGC, as we call ourselves, is an Instructional Design House that delivers impactful and effective learning experiences through content expertise, instructional strategy, and new-age technology. Incorporated in 2021, VGC is a young company that is built on a cumulative 7 decades of experience in learning and development.

We are a ‘woman-owned business’, but that’s not all. 75% of our employees are women, with women playing key roles in senior positions. One of our core values is ‘be chill’ because we pride ourselves on being inclusive and unbiased.

Remote that Works

We are an entirely remote organization with team members in six cities across India. Not only are we entirely remote, but also successful! Between end-2021 to early-2024, our team grew from 2 to 24 FTEs. As an entirely remote organization, we’re happy to be providing gainful employment, while also contributing to zero carbon emissions.

What does the culture at an entirely remote working Instructional Design house look like?

Typically, it looks like a lot of web meetings! And that would be expected, wouldn’t it?

But it is also about working in an environment where human connections are built through a combination of diligence and trust. We don’t have space for micro-management! Each team member understands that they must be accountable for their own work. In turn, our processes are designed to encourage trust and reward reliability. When each person brings their best self to live projects, everyone is happy!

Our culture is also built upon a strong sense of self-worth. Our instructional designers appreciate what they do, and this confidence comes from our culture of ongoing training and continuous development. We don’t just learn from training sessions; we also make it a habit of creating opportunities to learn on the job.

Remote working has its obvious benefits, but there is also FOMO: fear of missing out on human interactions like we had in traditional workplaces. The water cooler conversation, friendly banter over cups of tea, or friendly office lunches. In our remote environment, we make up for this FOMO in innovative ways:

Our weekly ‘chai time chats’ where the team meets for 30-minutes of socializing through online games, sharing stories, or just catching up.

Our monthly ‘team meet ups’ where the larger team in Pune gets a chance to catch up over coffee or dinner and drinks.

Our annual outbound training workshops, where we get a chance to meet up as a company, spend time together for a few days, learn, work and also play!
